Latest Life Sciences research
Our Life Sciences research focuses on companies with market capitalisations from £30m to £500m. We seek to cover stocks which are poorly covered, or where we believe that the market has missed a critical point of the story. In the present markets, we are highlighting profitable, cashflow generative ideas, where the relatively recession proof nature of the healthcare sector provides protection to core profit growth. We like to draw investor attention to stocks moving towards near-term newsflow events which could catalyse significant changes in valuation. However, we do not cover biotechnology companies which lack proof of concept data (success in phase IIa clinical trials is essential for us). Our research approach combines rigorous analysis of publicly available financial data and in-depth interviews with senior management, customers, doctors, patients and competitors, in order to publish a range of short company notes and longer multi-company thematics. We integrate best case/worst case scenarios into all of our financial modelling, to help investors to identify the share price catalysts and pitfalls in every story. Our lead analyst is a medical doctor, ranked first in the 2005 Sunday Times/Starmine survey of performance of investment recommendations (for UK listed healthcare companies).
